Receptionists

Holly
Holly Pilcher
Holly has been a friendly face at our front desk for the past 3 years. With a welcoming smile and caring personality, she helps make every client and pet feel right at home.

She’s been married to her husband, Chad, for 28 years and is the proud mom of her son, Tyler. At home, Holly enjoys relaxing with her cat, Cleo. Outside the office, you’ll often find her crocheting or spending quality time with her family.

Karlie
Karlie Belt

Karlie joined our team recently after moving to North Carolina last summer from Northern California. Growing up with dogs, cats, bunnies, and goats, she’s always loved animals.

She lives with her sister, brother-in-law, nieces, and their rescue cat Marty. Karlie enjoys making every client feel welcome and helping pets get the care they need. Outside work, she loves exploring her new home and spending time with family.

I am happy to be a receptionist at the Davie Dog House, I love meeting new clients and their precious animals! I am a lifelong resident of Clemmons. I am engaged to my high school sweetheart Ryan and we have two beautiful children, Zachary and Skyler. I have 2 dogs named Lucy and Jellybean and a cat named Ollie.

Alysa East
Alysa East
Alysa grew up all over the East Coast, travelling with her family. Now living in Bermuda Run, NC, she’s dedicated to providing clients with reliable service and a positive, upbeat attitude. With a passion for animals, Alysa transitioned into the veterinary field in 2024 after years of experience in pet care. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her three cats – Cosmonaut, Nyla Jean, and Sesame Seed.

Dawn Hardin – Davie Dog House Manager
Dawn has been a valued member of the practice for nine years and currently serves as the manager of the Davie Dog House. Her dedication and leadership help ensure every furry guest feels right at home. Outside of work, Dawn enjoys traveling and relaxing at the lake with her husband, Chris. Together they have three wonderful daughters, a mini Australian Shepherd, a turtle, and a bearded dragon.
Rachel Chambers

Rachel was born and raised in Mocksville, NC. She married her husband, Andrew, in 2018 and spent several years working as a receptionist at a doggie daycare in the Lake Norman area. She and Andrew now live in Bermuda Run with their two beloved dogs, Mavi and Penny.

Maci is excited to be part of the Animal Hospital of East Davie team as a receptionist and enjoys helping clients and their pets. Originally from Morganton, NC, she recently moved to Lexington. In her free time, Maci loves to cook and her furry family consist of a pitbull/boxer mix named Hope and a Boston Terrier named Millie.

Veterinary Technicians & Support Team

Carla
Carla Shumate
Carla has been part of the clinic team for 2 years, but her journey started earlier helping downstairs as a receptionist for Davie Dog House—until we “stole” her upstairs to join us as a tech! She brings a caring, detail-oriented approach to every patient she helps and loves supporting the team to provide the best possible care.

Outside the office, Carla enjoys baking, reading, and crafting, and she loves spending quality time with her nephew. She shares her home with her husband, Dwayne, and their two dogs, Remi and Tessa, who keep life lively and full of love.

Lindsay
Lindsay Carnes – Veterinary Technician

Lindsay joined the team in 2018, working part-time before going full-time in 2020—and we haven’t let her escape since. As a veterinary technician, she handles everything from assisting in surgery and drawing blood to wrangling wiggly puppies and calming anxious cats (and sometimes their humans).

Rabies vaccinated and fearless around feisty pets, Lindsay is known for her calm demeanor and magic touch with even the most nervous patients. She’s also the proud mom of Ginger, the unofficial clinic mascot and “support staff” Golden Retriever who faithfully reports for duty every Friday morning (treats preferred over paychecks).

Leigh
Leigh Sherrill – Office Manager & Veterinary Technician
Leigh is a dedicated Veterinary Technician and Office Manager who has been a vital part of the clinic for the past 19 years. Known for her reliability, leadership, and deep love for animals, she helps keep the clinic running smoothly while ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care.

Outside of the office, Leigh enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and their son, Levi. She’s also a proud dog mom to Willow and Haven, who are never far from her side. When she’s not at work, Leigh can often be found working out or enjoying quality time with her family and pups. Her passion for animals and commitment to her team make her an irreplaceable part of the clinic family.

Emily S
Emily Shelton – Senior Veterinary Technician
Emily brings over 30 years of experience in the veterinary field and has been a valued member of our clinic for the past 19 years. With decades of hands-on knowledge, she offers a high level of technical skill, especially when it comes to assisting in surgery—one of her favorite parts of the job. Her steady presence, attention to detail, and dedication to patient care make her an essential part of our medical team.

Emily lives with her husband, Bobby, and their two sons, Griffin and Dawson. At home, she’s surrounded by furry companions including dogs Olive and Louie, and their cat Elvis. Outside the office, you’ll often find her at the ballpark cheering on Dawson, or spending quality time with her family. Emily’s passion for animals and her commitment to excellent care make her a cornerstone of our clinic.

Emma King
Emma King – Veterinary Technician
Emma is new to the veterinary field but has quickly proven herself to be a fast learner with a strong work ethic and a heart for animals. She’s adjusting to the profession with ease and brings a positive, can-do attitude to every task.

Emma is a proud dog mom to Lola, who keeps her on her toes and inspired every day. Outside of the clinic, Emma stays active as a softball coach and has over 13 years of experience as a player herself. She also enjoys working out and continuing to grow both personally and professionally. With her strong team spirit and dedication, Emma is already becoming a valuable part of the clinic family.

Riley Lingerfelt
Riley Lingerfelt – Veterinary Technician
Riley Lingerfelt is a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician who takes pride in delivering exceptional care to every patient—especially those with unique needs. Inspired by her own resilient three-legged dog, Remi, Riley brings empathy, precision, and a calm presence to the clinic each day.

Outside of the office, Riley is an avid sports enthusiast with over 15 years of softball experience. She now enjoys coaching young athletes, sharing her love for the game and helping the next generation build skills and confidence. Around the clinic, Riley is also affectionately known as the “tall girl,” always ready to grab what’s out of reach for the rest of the (shorter) staff. Whether she’s helping a pet heal or reaching the top shelf, Riley is always happy to lend a hand.

Haley
Haley Flippin – Veterinary Technician
Haley brings 3 years of hands-on experience in veterinary care and is currently expanding her knowledge by taking online vet tech courses. With a strong passion for animals and a drive to keep learning, she plays a key role in supporting both patients and the clinic team.

Outside of work, Haley is a proud dog mom to Reba and enjoys a mix of quiet and active hobbies—whether she’s getting lost in a good book or stepping into the boxing gym for a solid workout. Her balance of brains and strength (and love for all things furry) makes her a dynamic part of the team.

Meredith
Meredith Fowler – Veterinary Technician

Meredith has been part of the clinic family for 2 years, but her journey started even earlier—working downstairs in the kennels back in high school. Now, with hands-on experience and a strong work ethic, Meredith brings care, compassion, and familiarity to both patients and pet parents.

She’s married to her husband, Caleb, and is the proud dog mom to Weenie, a lovable mini dachshund who always keeps life interesting. Outside of work, Meredith enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends. Her long-time connection to the clinic and deep love for animals make her a valuable part of the team.

Leah
Leah Lail – Veterinary Technician
Leah has been a dedicated part of the clinic for 9 years and is known for her gentle touch and genuine love for patient care. Her top priority is making sure every animal feels safe, comforted, and cared for—treating each one like her own.

Leah is a proud dog mom to Ruger and enjoys spending her time outside the office with friends and family. Whether she’s supporting a patient through recovery or sharing laughs with loved ones, Leah brings heart and dedication to everything she does.
